How the map is assembled
Foundation School geography is checked against the UK Foundation Programme’s national information. Hospital locations are assembled from Foundation School, trust and programme information and plotted as individual sites.
The map currently includes 254 possible hospital sites. Hospital names, groupings and programme availability can change, and a hospital may not offer an FY1 or FY2 placement in every recruitment year.
What the map can and cannot tell you
Use the map to compare distances, identify towns and understand how widely placements may be distributed. It does not replace the programme details published in Oriel.

The information was last reviewed in September 2026. Corrections are made when a location or Foundation School allocation can be supported by an official source.
